No Escape

In this piece I was working on a drawing inspired by Goya, what I know from Goya he sometimes uses Greek Mythology as metaphors for some of his works like "Saturn Devouring his Children" and "Colossus" so what I chose to do was Dante's Inferno as my own metaphor with the Spanish War that Goya witnessed. I took some images from Goya some were from the series "The Disasters of War", "The Third of May" and some imagery of Dante's Inferno. I wanted to create a swirling pattern to give it a sense of motion, they're 9 levels of hell and the to that I pick were number 5 anger and number 7 violence because I felt it would be more relevent to the piece the I've finished.
